Dutch immigrant Piet de Vries has known he's gay since his teenage years. His coping mechanisms include working out, strong coffee and frequenting a small pub that serves his favourite lunch dish, uitsmijters.
Cian Bogan, from Ireland, fled home after confessing his love to his childhood best friend. Working at a small pub in London brings some happiness, but little money. His busy schedule and the daily struggle for survival keep him from longing for more.
On the surface, they are nothing alike, but are instantly drawn to each other. With the threat of prison just for being gay looming over them, will they listen to the law, or will they follow their hearts? Can they find a way to build a life together, no matter the cost?
